Abstract
Numerous virtues are enviable in multiprocessor interconnection networks for large-scale parallel systems. They include the ability to utilize connection patterns in generally used parallel applications, a low maximum routing distance or network diameter, low message delays and last but not the least, ease of implementation. The hypercube network are well known and versatile interconnection network for parallel computers of very large scale, the port limitation due to technology greatly forbid the use of hypercube networks. In this paper a variety of interconnection network based on the hypercube is discussed along with their properties. The comparative study suggests the methods to overcome the above limitations besides having desirable properties.
