Abstract
Cell interference and coverage shortage of base stations result in low Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) and poor spectral efficiency. To overcome these problems in 4G LTE-Advanced networks – A new method of capacity enhancement and performance evaluation using Sectored Relaying is proposed in this paper. The main focus is laid on the selection of the location for the relay node (RN) in the cellular network so that Access Link attains much improved performance in terms of throughput capacity and Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) besides improving the quality of wireless relay backhaul link. A mathematical model of the proposed system in terms of throughput capacity, path loss attenuation and Access Link SINR has been developed. The Mathematical Modeling of the proposed system has been verified by the simulations carried on Matlab 14. A significant improvement has been observed from the results, which justify the need for sectored relaying in relay enhanced networks. The parameters for simulation have been used in accordance with 4G LTE standard. Moreover, it has been observed that the proposed technique has lesser complexity with minimal deployment expenditure and performs better than the existing techniques.
